The 6th Graders are off to an amazing start in the 2023-2024 school year. As many people know the transition to middle school is a bit challenging because there are lots of new students, teachers, and rules. Although the first day is exciting, it is also nerve racking.
“On the first day of school, I was very nervous that I wouldn’t make it to class on time, but I managed,” said Manjari Bansikar.
The week before school started, sixth grades were invited to WMS Cub Camp to tour the school and meet their fellow classmates. Many students say they were excited but nervous about starting sixth grade.
Amour Augustine said “I was excited for school, but not ready for summer to end.”
Once school got started, students found themselves really enjoying Math, World Cultures, and their other electives.
Brianna Jack says “my favorite teachers are Mr. Edwards and Mrs. Sowell because they are both super fun and kind!”
Many 6th graders love what they are learning. They expressed how teachers always try to make lessons fun even if it’s the most boring subject.
As the year has progressed, the 6th Graders are fitting in well with the WMS environment. Students are excited to join clubs and go to classes.
Aaliyah Andrews said “I’m joining rosebuds because it seems like a really cool and fun club to join.”
Lots of fun things are coming up soon and the 6th Graders are in for a treat!
