2024 Senior Walk

As the year comes to an end, the 2024 seniors were celebrated as they walked through what used to be their middle school. The senior walk is known for gathering graduating seniors to commemorate the times they shared at Woodcreek. The seniors are welcomed back with WMS Cheer, Dance, Teachers, Students and more.

Summer Creek High School senior Abigail Johnson said “It felt good walking down the halls one last time.”

Many teachers got to reunite with past students. Johnson said “It was nostalgic, especially seeing all my old teachers.” Some seniors were even the teachers’ first students they taught. Seventh grade Science teacher, Ms. Sands said that “The class of 2024 was the first class of 7th graders I taught, Seeing them all grown up was very fulfilling.”

The Senior Walk gives all high schoolers a chance to look back to old memories, and a chance to motivate young minds to work hard to end up where they are today. Summer Creek High School senior, Kathryn Barrett, said “I had to come back all the time to help with cheer. It definitely felt different to see the hallways full of kids that are looking up to me.”

The seniors were full of emotion as they saw their younger years right in front of them. Summer Creek High School senior, Diana Rodriguez, said “It was definitely an emotional experience as all the memories I made there came rushing back.”

Sadly the seniors’ eighth grade year was cut short at Woodcreek due to the outbreakof Covid-19 in Spring 2020. Diana Rodriguez said’ “The senior walk was an opportunity for me to say my goodbyes to some of my best teachers, which is something that unfortunately I wasn’t able to do due to covid.”

The Senior Walk is one of the most popular traditions at Woodcreek Middle School every year, and this year was no different. Not only was it exciting to celebrate the seniors’ accomplishments, but it also gave them a chance to finally say goodbye to their former teachers and celebrate together.
