So much is going on in Social Studies right now!
6th Grade: This week in World Cultures, students discussed what it means to think like a historian and a geographer. Students analyzed credible sources by identifying primary and secondary sources. Next week, students will learn about the Five Themes of Geography and incorporate their map skills. FIRST TEST IS ON AUGUST 25.
7th Grade: This week in Texas History, students learned about the four regions of Texas. Students talked about the various landforms and climates of each region, as well as how the geography affects the people who live there. Next week, students will gain a further understanding of this as they look at the Native Americans tribes of Texas. UNIT 1 TEST IS ON SEPTEMBER 1!
8th Grade: This week, students dove into European Exploration and examined the different ways each European country arrived in the New World. Next week, students will analyze the settlement of the 13 colonies and observe the growth of the colonies over the next 100 years. UNIT 1 TEST WILL BE ON AUGUST 30!
