Week 4 of Science

  • 6th Grade:  Next Week we begin the week with test corrections from the exam we took Friday 09/01/2023. Tuesday to the end of the week we will begin Unit 2 which is Force and Motion . Our focus will be on identifying and explaining how forces act on objects, including gravity, friction, magnetism, applied forces, and normal forces, using real-world applications. Have a Safe Labor Day Weekend! Find great chromebook deals on refurbished chromebooks. Search “Chromebook” on Amazon and filter to view the lowest price to high. I bought an additional 2 chromebooks for class use and now have a total of 7. I have never paid more than $24.00 per chromebook and they look and work fine. Find a great deal for children this weekend.

  • 7th Grade: Students will continue their unit over cells and will be starting their Cell Projects. We will have technology provided but it is also encouraged for students to bring their own if they have it. This will be counted as a summative grade and will be due Wednesday, Sept. 13. Please support 7th grade science by donating to the science department on revtrak to help go towards lab supplies and other amazing things we’ll be doing this year. Any donation is greatly appreciated!

  • 8th Grade: This week students will take a call for help from the Houston Port Authority and use their knowledge about moon phases and tides to determine the best days and times for ships to come to port. Students will analyze graphs and collaborate with peers to complete this activity. Our first Unit Test over Seasons, Moons and Tides will be Friday 9/8/2023. Please check with your student to see if they need to attend tutorials next week in order to be prepared for this exam.
